From the desk of Sheriff Scott Bradley

On August 10, 2016 the first of two thefts in the Bee Branch area was reported to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department. The Conway County Sheriff’s Department had a report of a Burglary on August 15, 2016 that was just inside Conway County. Through a cooperative effort, both Agencies quickly determined that these thefts were connected.  During the course of the investigation, there has been approximately $7,000 worth of recovered property in tools, a side by side and similar items, collected from various locations where items had been sold or hidden. This recovered property was from one of the Van Buren County thefts and the Conway County Theft.

The following men have been charged with crimes associated to these thefts.

Jon Dunham, 34 of Bee Branch has been charged with Theft By Receiving, Class D Felony. Scotty Cossey, 36 of Bee Branch has been charged with Theft By Receiving, Class D Felony. Michael Floyd, 35 of Bee Branch had been charged with Theft By Receiving, Class D Felony. All three men have been arrested, charged and released on bond.

These cases are still on-going investigations. Other criminal charges may be filed pending the outcome of these investigations. There is still stolen property that has yet to be recovered. Anyone with information regarding these thefts is asked to call the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Scott Bradley is offering a cash reward of $1,000 for information on where stolen items can be recovered and returned to the rightful owner(s). One item in particular is a stolen flatbed car hauler trailer. All information must lead to the arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible. All leads will be kept confidential.
