Van Buren County man arrested of drug and gun charges.

On August 23, 2016, Officers from Arkansas Probation and Parole, assisted by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, & the 20th Judicial District Drug Crime Task Force, conducted a home visit on 51 year old James Honeycutt at 246 Gentry Road in Van Buren County. Upon arriving at the residence and during the home visit, Officers located a 30-06 rifle, a glass smoking device (believed to be used for smoking methamphetamine), several baggies with white residue, a smoking device (believed to be used for smoking marijuana) and suspected marijuana seeds. Mr. Honeycutt was then transported to the Van Buren County Detention Center for booking. Honeycutt is being charged with a felony Probation Violation, felony Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons, felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Honeycutt is currently incarcerated at the Van Buren County Detention Center with no bond.
The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office makes arrested on the evidence obtained and presents the facts to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office to see if charges are to the filed. All people are presumed innocent until proving guilty.
