On August 4th, 2016, Deputies from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office made contact with a vehicle with no tags on State Highway 336 W. When deputies tried the stop the vehicle, it fled from deputy. Deputies later located the Vehicle abandoned in the Greers Ferry Lake area of Choctaw. Deputies search the area and found an intoxicated female in the woods near the abandoned vehicle, identified as 32 year old Josie Anderson of Shirley. After speaking with Anderson and further investigation into the incident, it was found that 29 year old Anthony Glen Smith of Clinton was the driver of the vehicle. Anderson was charged with Public Intoxication and is currently incarcerated at the Van Buren County Detention Center awaiting a first appearance.  

A warrant is being sought for Smith. Anybody knowing of Smith’s location is asked to call the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office at 501-745-2112
