Bee Branch man arrested on Aggravated Assault and Fleeing Charges and his girlfriend arrested on Hindering Apprehension.

On July 15th, 2016, Deputies from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call in the State Highway 92 E area of Van Buren County. After speaking with the victim and an investigation into the incident, Deputies found that the victim’s neighbor came to their house and assaulted them. Deputies then went to where the suspect was staying. A female 37 year old Angela Clark of Clinton, answered the door. As deputies that was securing the rear of the residence saw a male run from the rear of the residence. Deputies reported that the male subject, had a gun and pointed it at them as he was fleeing from them. Deputies lost contact with the subject. On July 17th, 2016 while still searching for the suspect, deputies received information that the suspect, was seen in the Sugar Loaf area at a residence and had run off into the woods. Administration requested the assistance of Arkansas Department of Corrections K-9 tracking unit to help located the suspect. Van Buren County Deputies, assisted by the ADC K-9 tracking units was able to locate the suspect and apprehend him. The suspect was identified as 44 year old Shawn L. Haynes of Bee Branch. Deputies also arrested Clark for Hindering Apprehension and Obstructing Government Operations. Haynes is being charged with Aggravated Assault, Fleeing and more charges pending.
