Fairfield Bay man arrested on Assault charges.

On July 2nd, 2016, Deputies from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call on State Highway 330 S in Shirley. When deputies arrived they made contact with the victim and 28 year old Justin Tyme Cowin of Fairfield Bay. Deputies reported after speaking with the victim, Cowin had got mad and punched the window of a vehicle and started ripping out the interior to the vehicle. The victim reports she was then thrown to the ground by Cowin and he tried to rip her clothes off. Deputies reported Cowin rested as they tried to arrest him. Cowin was charged with misdemeanor Assault on a Family Member, misdemeanor Criminal Mischief, and misdemeanor Resisting Arrest. Cowin is currently incarcerated at the Van Buren County Detention Center on $560.00 bond.
