Viola man arrested on drug charges (Methamphetamine) with a $43,000.00 street value and one other man being sought.

On the evening of Tuesday, April 19th, 2016, Deputies from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office came in contact with a vehicle on US Highway 65, south of Choctaw, driving erratically. Deputies reported attempting to make a traffic stop on the vehicle. Deputies reported the vehicle would not stop, and started driving at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour trying to avoid Deputies. During the pursuit, Deputies noticed the occupants of the vehicle throwing items from the window of the vehicle. Clinton City Officers aided in the pursuit and tried to slow the vehicle down by getting in front of it. The pursuit continued to State Highway 16 East toward Shirley. Deputies reported the occupants continued throwing items from the vehicle. Deputies reported the vehicle wrecked at the S curves just prior to downtown Shirley. Deputies secured the scene and got medical attention for one of the occupants and found the second occupant fled the scene. Deputies recovered several bags containing approximately 15 ounces of suspected methamphetamine with an approximately street value of $43,000.00. One of the occupants still at the scene was identified as 34 year old Jeremiah Turman of Viola. The 20th Judicial District Drug Crime Task Force and the Arkansas State Police assisted in the investigation. Turman is currently incarcerated at the Van Buren County on $35,000.00 bond.
The second occupant was identified as 44 year old Jason Krunsick of Mountain Home, Arkansas who is currently be sought.
