Shirley shooting suspect charged with Capital Murder.

On February 16, 2016 at approximately 8:00 p.m. Van Buren County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call that a man had been shot. Deputies arrived at a residence in Shirley to find one white male unresponsive who was transported to Ozark Health where he was later pronounced dead on arrival. 46 year old Andrew Jack Severns of Drasco was taken into custody at the scene without incident. This investigation is still under way. 20th Judicial District Prosecutor, filed charges today February 19th, 2016 on Severns. Severns is being charged with felony Capitol Murder a Class Y felony, felony Possession of firearms by certain person a Class B felony, and felony Theft by receiving a Class D felony. Severns is currently incarcerated at the Van Buren County Detention Center on no bond.
