Conway County man arrested on several felony charges after fleeing from offices.

From the desk of Sheriff Scott Bradley

On August 15th, 2015, Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office dispatch, put a bolo about a vehicle driving by 36 year old Elmer Guinn of Center Ridge, fleeing from Conway County Deputies and headed toward Clinton. Clinton City Officer Jenny Miller 108 saw the vehicle heading north on US Highway 65 in Clinton and followed the vehicle at a high rate of speed, until it crashed near McDonalds in Clinton. Miller reported the driver fled from the vehicle into the City of Clinton. Assisted by other Clinton Police Department Officers, the Arkansas State Police, and the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office a man hunt started for the driver. Later a white van was stolen from Clinton near Clinton City Hall. It was reported that Guinn was trying to get to his girlfriend’s house north of Clinton. A report later came in from a residence that Guinn was at the residence and pointed a gun at the occupants, then fled into the woods. Guinn was later caught on US Highway 65 North and arrested. Guinn is facing charges of felony fleeing, felony terroristic threating, felony theft of a motor vehicle, and with other charges pending. Guinn is currently incarcerated at the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office awaiting a first appearance .
