Clinton man arrested on theft charges.

On April 1st, 2015 Investigators from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, after investigating a death of a man in the Fawn Bluff area of Van Buren County received a call from the Van Buren County Coroner, stating that a man tried to get the wallet of the deceased man. Later a vehicle with three men in went to First Service Bank with the saving pass book of the deceased person and attempted to empty the bank account of the deceased man. Investigators identified the one of the men trying to get the money from the account as 53 year old Edgar Denham of Clinton, who lives near the deceased man on Fawn Bluff. Investigators also identified Larry Whisnant as one of the others in the vehicle from bank surveillance videos. Denham was arrested for and charged with felony Financial Fraud. Denham was released on $2000.00 bond. Whisnant is currently wanted on the same charges.
