Clinton man and women arrested on drug charges after pursuit.

On Sunday February 15th, 2015 at approximately 1:00 AM Arkansas State Police Trooper arrested 42 year old Stephen Burch of Clinton and 34 year old Lisa Diane Taylor of Clinton on drug related charges. The Trooper reported he attempted to stop a 1999 BMW in Clinton for fictitious tags. The Trooper reported he, pursued the vehicle approximately 26 miles up State Highway 16 West at a very high rate of speed. The Trooper reported, when the vehicle came to a stop near State Highway 16 West and Watson Road, a male and female exited the vehicle and the two individuals fled into the woods. The Trooper reported giving foot pursuit and said the male and female fell down an embankment or bluff. The Trooper said he was able to apprehend them at that time. Burch was transported to UAMS in Little Rock for injuries obtained in the fall. The female was transported to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office. Assisting in the investigation was the 20th Judicial District Drug Crime Task Force and the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office. Burch is being charged with Felony Possession of a controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and Felony Fleeing. Taylor is being charged with Felony Possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine), and Felony fleeing. Both have been released on bond. Burch $7500.00 bond and Taylor $10,000 bond.
