49 people arrested in Operation Ice Storm

From the desk of Sheriff Scott Bradley and Cody Hiland Prosecuting Attorney of the 20th Judicial District.

On Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 in the early morning hours, in a joint law enforcement effort, officers and deputies arrested approximately 49 person for various drug related offenses.  After an  approximately 2 year investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the 20th Judicial District Drug Crime Task Force, approximately 55 arrest warrants both federal and state, where executed in Van Buren County, in an operation known as Ice Storm.  Of the 49 arrested approximately 17 where state warrants and the rest where federal warrants.  Assisting in the operation was the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, United States Marshall Service, National Guard, Arkansas Probation and Parole, Conway Police and others.

I would just like to thank all the agency’s involved in this operation, in helping to take a major bite out of the drug problems across the country and continue making or county (Van Buren County) still a great place to live.  Sheriff Scott Bradley
