Clinton man arrested of firearm charges.

On Saturday August 23rd, 2014 at approximately 8:01 AM, Van Buren County Deputies responded to a abandoned vehicle on Oakland Road, on a power line right-of-way, near a BHP gas well site in Van Buren County. There have been reported incidents of theft and vandalism at gas well sites in Van Buren County in the past. Deputies found two people asleep in the vehicle. The male subject was identified as 56 year old Richard Brian Reynolds of Clinton. Deputy David Hess of the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the incident. Hess found out after a brief investigation, that a pistol was in the vehicle and that Reynolds was a convicted felon. Hess seized the gun and arrested Reynolds for Possession of firearms by certain persons and Class D Felony. Reynolds is currently incarcerated at the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office awaiting a first appearance.
