Man killed in vehicle accident on New Road.

From the desk of Sheriff Scott Bradley

On August 17th, 2014, Deputy David Hess of the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office, responded to a vehicle accident on the New Road which was reported to have happened on August 15th, 2014.  Hess reported when he arrived on scene, he found a vehicle off the road upside down in a deep ravine, with a male victim lying partially under the vehicle.  After speaking with the victims brother, 59 year old Chester Knoble of Shirley, Knoble reported to Hess they had went to Reaves Grocery Store in Shirley with his brother 58 year old Douglas Kent Knoble of Shirley and was on the way home at approximately 4:30 AM when the accident happened.  Chester Knoble reported that he was knocked out and when he woke up,  he realized the vehicle was upside down and his brother (Douglas Knoble) was deceased.  Chester Knoble reported it took him awhile to get out of the vehicle and walked to the first residence he came to for help.  The vehicle was a green 2000 Toyota Corolla.  The Van Buren County Coroner pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
