Damascus women arrested on drug charges.

On August 10th, 2014, Officer Jennifer Miller of the Clinton Police Department on a reckless driver. Deputies from Van Buren County Sheriff's Office made contact with the vehicle on State Highway 9. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 41 year old Tammy Venable of Damascus. After Miller arrived on scene she arrested Venable for misdemeanor probation violation and transported Venable to the Van Buren County Detention.
Detention officer Karen Angerman of the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office found four green pills, believed to be Oxycodone. Angerman notified Miller and gave Miller the pills. Miller turned the case over to the 20th Judicial Drug Task Force and Arkansas State Police. After an interview with Venable, Task Force and State Police Agents received permission to search Venable's residence. Assisted by Deputy David Merriott of the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office, and agents searched the residence of Venable in her presence. Agents found in the residence 2 bags of suspected marijuana, rolling paper and a grinder with suspected marijuana residue in it.
Venable is being charged with Felony possession of a controlled substance (prescription pills), and Misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).
Venable received a $2500.00 bond on her misdemeanor probation violation and is awaiting a first appearance on the felony charge.
