On May 7, 2014 the Choctaw VFW reported that scene of they had been burglarized the previous night. Stolen was a 58” flat screen television valued at approximately $900.00 and a safe with cash from the nights before. Investigators arrived to receive statements and process the crime scene.
In the weeks to come, Investigators recovered the television and other items that are of interest to this case. A warrant was issued for a suspect who has been arrested on the case.
In another co-investigation with Clinton Police Dept, the same suspect was arrested for stealing camera equipment from the Choctaw Flash Market. The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Dept sought and received a warrant for Brandon Haskell, 27, of Clinton was arrested for two counts of commercial burglary and two counts of theft of property.
Haskell posted a $5000 bond for the Commercial Burglary and Theft at the Flash Market and a $7500 bond for the Commercial Burglary and Theft at the Choctaw VFW.
