On April 9, 2014, The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Dept received a call for assistance from Searcy County that there had been a Commercial Burglary in the early morning hours from a convenience store in Marshall. The suspects last known address was at a residence onHollyMountainin Van Buren County. Deputies were notified of the latest information of the suspect and the vehicle he was believed to be driving. Deputies made contact with the suspect in the Shirley area near the intersection of Hwy’s 110 and 16 East. Investigators recovered approximately $3,255 in cash and coin, $300 in beer and liquor, several items purchased with stolen money, stolen lottery tickets, suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. James Moore, 26, of Paris, was arrested at the scene and transported to the Van Buren County Detention Center where he was booked in on Felony Drug charges. Marshall Police Dept. will have Felony Burglary charges pending the outcome of the investigation of their incident. All evidence was returned to Marshall Police department and the victim of the burglary. The amount of the cash theft was believed to be just under $4,000. |
