03/17/2014 Home Invasion Burglary results in Arrests |

From the desk of Sheriff Scott Bradley The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a resident in the Bee Branch area of Van Buren County to report that he had been held at knife point in his home on March 17. The reporting party stated that around 7:30p.m.this evening, three men entered his house by kicking in his front door. One of the men assaulted him and then held a knife to his neck while the other two men took two televisions, stereo speakers and stereo equipment. The suspects, known by the victim, then left the residence. Van Buren County Sheriffs Deputies sought and received three warrants for the men involved who were quickly apprehended a few days following the incident. Dustin Rusk, 25 of Bee Branch; Michael Lankford, 23 of Bee Branch; and Rodney Merritt 29, of Conway were all arrested on Aggravated Robbery charges (Class Y Felony). Rusk was given a $125,000 bond, Lankford was given a $40,000 bond and Merritt was given a $100,000 bond. All suspects are currently being held in the Van Buren County Detention Center. |
