02/01/2014 Early Morning Traffic Stop results in drug arrest |

On February 1, 2014, a traffic stop resulted in a Felony drug arrest. In the early morning hours, a vehicle traveling north on Hwy 65 was stopped due to an equipment violation. The Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a brief search and discovered a pill bottle that contained suspected methamphetamine on the driver. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Van Buren County Detention Center where a more thorough search revealed more suspected methamphetamine. Ronald L. Hamner, 56, of Clinton faces charges of Possession of Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine, Possession with intent to Deliver; both Felony charges. Hamner was released from the Van Buren County Detention Center on a $7,500 bond. |
