02/02/2014 Stranded Motorist call yields drug arrest |

From the desk of Sheriff Scott Bradley On February 2, 2014, The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Clinton Police department when a call from a concerned citizen sent Clinton Officers to check the welfare of a stranded motorist. Clinton Police Department arrived the parking lot of the Murphy gas station with Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department arriving shortly after. Officers found the driver of the vehicle slumped over the steering wheel. Further investigation revealed that the driver was in an altered state of mind and was unsafe to drive. The driver was taken into custody for obvious intoxication. A search of the vehicle revealed numerous items of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. The 20th Judicial Drug Task force was called to the scene to assist with the investigation. Robert Logan, 20, of Little Rock, was transported to the Van Buren County Detention Center charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Logan was released on $2500 bond. |
