Construction started on Van Buren County Sheriff's Office Tower (UPdate)
From the desk of Sheriff Scott Bradley
Construction has started on the Van Buren County tower. Last year the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office lost its communications tower during a tornado that did a wide range of damage in Van Buren County. Since that time Van Buren County Sheriff's Office and assisted by the Van Buren County Judge has raised enough money to erect a state of the art 190 foot tower. All money obtained was through insurance, grants, and private donations and no money was taken from Van Buren County's, county general fund. The property which the tower will erected on, was donated by Jimmy McIntire of Clinton. The tower will be located just north of Clinton at 634 Eagle View Lane.
This tower will be utilized by the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office and other agencies in Clinton and Van Buren County. This state of the art tower will take us well into the future for the epansion of our communication needs in the county.
I would like to thank everyone involved in this project, because without everyone's help this might not have been possible.
Thank you very much,
The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office tower was erected today. Next stage will be putting up a building to house the repeater equipment.
