Theft Solved One arrested
From the Desk of Sheriff Scott Bradley
On October 20, 2013, The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department received a report from a deer hunter who had parked his vehicle in the Black Hills Road area in Bee Branch. The reporting party stated that he returned from his deer stand to find that his vehicle had been broken into and several items were missing. He reported hearing noise in the area of his vehicle and believes that was the time the suspect broke into his vehicle. Responding Deputies found evidence at the scene and quickly developed a suspect.
The person of interest in this case was determined to be a Parolee assigned to the Mountain View office. A search of suspect’s residence revealed several items that were taken from the reporting party’s vehicle.
David Hocut, of Bee Branch, was arrested at the scene for Breaking or Entering, Theft of Property and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Mr. Hocut was transported to the Van Buren County Detention Center where he is being held with no bond.
