Traffic Stop leads to Drug arrest

On August 19, 2013 a traffic stop by Van Buren County Deputy leads to multiple drug charges. The vehicle was observed leaving the Holland Cemetery in the early morning hours of August 19. The vehicle left and then drove on the left side of the road just before being pulled over. The driver admitted to having some prescription drugs in the vehicle that weren’t prescribed to him. He later admitted to having other contraband in the vehicle. The 20th Judicial Drug Task Force arrived to assist at the scene where all total there were prescription pills, syringes, pipes and several baggies that contained suspected methamphetamine residue and suspected methamphetamine found in the vehicle.
Christopher Tully, 34, of Quitman was transported from the scene to the Van Buren County Detention Center where he was booked on Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Tully was released on a $3,000 bond.
