Welfare check results in Drug Arrest

On July 6, 2013 the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Dept received a call of a welfare check on a stalled vehicle in the Sugar Loaf area. The responding Deputy arrived to find an unresponsive driver in the vehicle with suspected drug in plain view in the vehicle.
Johnny Hunt, 28, of Higden was arrested at the scene and taken to the Van Buren County Detention Center where he was charged with Felony drug possession. Mr. Hunt was released on a $3,000 bond.
