Traffic Stop Ends in Arrest

On May 27th, 2013, Deputies with the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department made a traffic stop late Monday night after the call of a disturbance involving the suspect vehicle. Deputies made the traffic stop to find that the driver was a convicted felon who was in possession of firearms. Damascus Police Department was called to assist with a K9 search of the vehicle. The search revealed two firearms and a white powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine. The driver, Gabriel J. Kipfer, 40, of Clinton, was arrested and faces several felony charges. He is currently being held at the Van Buren County Detention Center awaiting bond hearing.
