Woman Arrested on Burglary/Theft charges

On April 14, 2013, Van Buren County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to two separate calls in theScotlandarea that resulted in criminal charges being filed on one person.
The first call was a “break in in progress” at a residence off of Pleasant Grove loop in theScotlandarea with the suspect still in the residence. Deputies arrived to find Anita Pruitt, 42, ofScotland, inside the residence. The owner arrived shortly to the scene to explain that Ms. Pruitt did not have permission to be there. Ms. Pruitt was arrested for Residential Burglary for that incident.
The next call was to report that a person discovered stolen property at his home and believed that Anita Pruitt had brought it there. Investigators learned that the items in question had came from a residence off ofFlint Road, in theScotlandarea. Ms. Pruitt was charged with Felony Theft by Receiving in connection with this report. Ms. Pruitt was released on a $30,000 bond from the Van Buren County Detention Center.
