01/26/2012 Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest. |

On the night of Thursday January 26th 2012 Van Buren County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 336 West. The Clinton Police Department responded to the location and assisted with a K-9 which alerted on the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle by officers resulted in the discovery of items of drug paraphernalia and items used to manufacture Methamphetamine. Jeffery Dowell (34) of Clinton, Arkansas was arrested for being in possession of the items. A Special Agent with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation / Narcotics Division and an Agent of the 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force also responded to assist in the investigation. Dowell was charged in Van Buren County Circuit Court with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia With Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine both felonies. |
