Choctaw Marina Incident
The Manager of the Choctaw marina reported that some time around noon on May 8, 2011 a man with a fictitious name attempted to rent a boat. When the man was denied, he then attempted to take a boat out of a rental slip causing extensive damage to the boat.
Van Buren County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene with the assistance of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the Arkansas State Police. Shortly after 5 p.m. the same day, the State Police made a traffic stop on the suspect in the Choctaw area.
David Farwell, Jr. 36, of Clinton is facing charges of: Criminal Mischief 1st degree, Theft of Property, Possession of instrument of crime, accident with collision and reckless / negligent operation of a boat. Mr. Farwell has been released after posting bond.
