From the desk of Sheriff Scott Bradley

On August 31, 2010, at approximately 3:59, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department received a call of an aircraft accident in the area of 6831 Highway 95 West.  Once on the scene, Deputies were met by members of the Walnut Grove Fire Department.  A short time later, responding parties were able to identify that it was in fact a helicopter that had crash landed.  The helicopter was headed on a medical call flying from Vilonia to the Alread area just before the accident.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the accident.  The conclusion of the investigation could take up to 3 months.

Air Evac, later released the names of those that lost their lives in the tragic accident.  They are pilot Kenneth Robertson, flight nurse Kenneth Meyer, Jr., and flight paramedic Gayla Gregory.
