April 5th, 2010 Altercation between farther and son.

From the Desk of Sheriff Scott Bradley:

On Monday, April 5, The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department received a call from Louetta Hale of Peyton Mountain Road in the Dennard area.  Mrs. Hale reported that her son Benjamin Hale, 20 and her husband, Bryan Hale had been in a physical altercation at their residence that morning.  During the argument between father and son, the incident escalated to a fight.  Bryan Hale allegedly got a .40 cal handgun and shot one time in the upper wall of the house.  The altercation then went into the front yard of the residence where at least two more shots were fired.  Fearing for their safety, Mrs. Hale and her son left their residence and went to a neighbor’s house.

Deputies arrived in the area a short time later where Sheriff Scott Bradley spoke to Mrs. Hale.  Sheriff Bradley made contact with Bryan Hale at Hales residence where Hale was taken into custody without incident.  Bryan Hale, 52, is currently being evaluated at the Arkansas State Hospital.  Depending on the state of his mental health, Hale could face criminal charges.
