March 24th, 2010 3 arrested for Illegal Drugs and Meth Lab

On Wednesday March 24, 2010 The 20th Judicial Drug Crime Task Force Interdiction Unit made a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Hwy 16 East in Clinton. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of suspected methamphetamine as well as chemicals used in the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine. A search of the drivers residence revealed more chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. 20th JCTF Agents called for a Hazardous Material clean up crew out of Little Rock to dispose of the chemicals seized.
Assisting agencies involved
The Office of Marcus Vaden, 20th Judicial District Prosecutor filed the following charges: the driver, Chris Ranft, 58, of Fairfield Bay, and passenger William Collins are charged with: Manufacture Controlled substance - Class B Felony, Possession with Intent to Manufacture - Class D Felony, Drug Paraphernalia – Class C Felony, and one other drug related class D Felony.
The passenger, Barbara Haskall, is charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Class D Felony. Haskall has been released on a $25,000 bond. Ranft was released on a $10,000 bond. Collins remains at the Van Buren County Detention Center with a bond set at $20,000.
