Shirley man leads deputies on a highspeed chase down a dead-end road.

On November 16th, 2022 deputies responded to Sam Street in Shirley for a domestic disturbance. When deputies arrived, a SUV took off driving down River Road. After a few minutes the driver, Michael Dowell jumped from the Ford Bronco and attempted to flee on foot. But the Deputy was able to catch him in a matter of seconds.

 

Dowell was charged with Fleeing, Driving on Suspended license, Fictious Tags, Careless and Prohibited Driving and failure to stop at a stop sign.

 

ALL SUSPECTS ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.

Mabelvale man breaks into the wrong laundromat.

On Tuesday, November 8th 2022, Joshua Hicks decided he would break into the coin and vending machines at Lake Laundry in Choctaw. Little did he know there were cameras. The owner got video of his face and his car. 

 

The next day while deputies were patrolling they met the car. When he was pulled-over he was still wearing the same clothes. He even had the money on him.

Damascus man arrested for public intoxication.

On November 2nd, 2022 the Sheriff's office received a call about a man laying in the field on Hwy 9 unresponsive.  When deputies responded they found William Dennis in the field and he appeared to be intoxicated. He was transported to the VBCSO, cited for Public Intoxication and he had a warrant for failing to appear on his last Public Intoxication charge.

Quitman man arrested for DWI and refusal to submit.

On October the 29th, 2022 deputies were patrolling Hwy 336 West.  There was a truck parked halfway in the road. The truck then started driving and stopped in the middle of the road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the truck and the driver was identified as Ray Edwards of Quitman.

 

Edwards was having trouble walking and could not following direction's the deputy gave him. Edwards was arrested and charged with DWI and he refused to take a chemical test for the deputy, so he was charged with that also.

3 locals arrested for Breaking or Entering and Criminal Tresspass

On October, 29th. 2022 at approximately the Sheriff's Office responded to a house on Hwy 9 West. Someone called about the lights being on in a house and no one lives there. When deputies arrived on scene the lights were still on. They found Sherri Ragland(Dunham) in the yard. She told then she had permission to be there and no one else was there with her.

Deputies spoke to the owner and he said no one was supposed to be there. When deputies cleared the house for the owner, they found 2 more people hiding upstairs, after Ragland told them again, no one else was there. The 2 hiding, Carroll Grimes and Emma Bradford were arrested along with Ragland.

Bee Branch man and woman arrested.

On October 26th, 2022 Jonathan Hill and Tiffany Medine of Bee Branch were arrested. Mr. Hill was charged with Firearms by a certain person and Ms. Medine was arrested for an Absconder warrant.

Damascus man arrested on drug and firearm charges.

On October 22nd, 2022 Christopher Mcculley  was arrested on a traffic stop just north of Damascus and charged with Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of a drug paraphernalia and firearms by a certain person.

Bee Branch couple arrested for Residential Burglary

On October 13th, 2022 Douglas Williams and Teague Hilburn were arrested on Resort Road for Residential Burglary.

Clinton man arrested on Body attachment.

On October 8th, 2022 Joshua Cintron was arrested on a Felony Body attachment and resisting arrest.

Cleveland man arrested in Choctaw

Christopher Coats of Cleveland was arrested for Violating terms and conditions of probation and a Failure to Appear on Driving on suspended, Careless and Prohibited driving and Fleeing.
