Warrant Sought in Sex Abuse Case

In an ongoing investigation concerning the alleged sexual assault of a 17 year old male, a warrant for Shawna Ward, 35, of Bee Branch, is being sought by the Van Buren County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. 

The report of the alleged incident was made by South Side School officials to the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division in early March of this year.  The alleged suspect was an employee of South Side School at the time of the report.  ASP-CADC notified Investigators with the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department.  After processing all available evidence in the case, the arrest affidavit for Sexual Assault in the First degree was submitted.  Sexual Assault in the First Degree is a Class A Felony.

On April 27, 2012, The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department received the warrant for Mrs. Shawna Ward for Sexual Assault First Degree.  The warrant is expected to be served today.
