At approximately 12:40 am on Friday January 20th 2012 a traffic stop was conducted at the Hwy 330 and 16 intersections near Shirley, Arkansas by Van Buren County Deputies. Subsequent to the traffic stop a small amount of Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and Methamphetamine using paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. An agent of the 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force responded to assist in the investigation. The driver of the vehicle Christa Macnear (44) of Shirley was arrested for felony charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Marijuana as result of the incident.
On the afternoon of Friday January 20th 2012 the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department, Arkansas State Police, and 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence of Christa Macnear on The New Road near Shirley, Arkansas. During the search of the residence and property officers located a Methamphetamine Lab along with Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Firearms, and numerous items of Drug Paraphernalia. Arrested at the location was Sonya Bryant (37) of Shirley and Scott Mize (24) of Fairfield Bay. Christa Macnear (44) of the residence is also expected to be charged in connection with the investigation. Sonya Bryant was arrested at the location on a warrant for Delivery of Methamphetamine as well as pending charges for the items of evidence located in the search.
