Missing Child Found

On September 28, 2010, at approximately 7:30 pm, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department was notified that a 4yr old girl had been reported missing from her home just north of Clinton. 

            At approximately 6:00pm that evening the girl was allowed to walk a short distance from her residence to a friends house that the family referred to as “Grandma”.   At approximately 7:00 pm, the girl’s mother sent “Grandma” a message to have the girl come home.  In turn, “Grandma” told her that the girl hadn’t made it to her house.  All parties began looking for the girl and called 911.

            The Van Buren County Search and Rescue Squad were dispatched to the scene along with the Arkansas State Police and area volunteers. 

             At approximately 11:30pm, she was found nearly one mile from her home.  She was evaluated by paramedics on the scene and later transported to Ozark Health as a precaution.  She was later released from the hospital with no serious injuries.

Sheriff Scott Bradley would like to extend his gratitude to the Van Buren County Rescue Squad and each and every volunteer that gave freely of their time to work toward the safe recovery of this young lady
