On Friday May, 7, 2010 Deputies with the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department and the Arkansas State Police served a search warrant at the Jerry D. Hausler residence in the Dennard area.  Hausler was convicted of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a child in Texas in 2006 and was sentenced to 10 years probation.  Hausler moved to Arkansas in early 2006, and did not register until September 2009.   Failure to register is a Class D Felony.  While serving the search warrant, Deputies found a firearm and ammunition. 

Prosecuting Attorney Marcus Vaden will be filing Felony charges on the Failure to Register as well as new Felony charges for weapons possession.  Hausler is currently being held at the Van Buren County Detention Center without bond.
