    Help for crime victims:
    Eligible victims of violent crime (including DWI) may qualify for up to $10,000 of financial help from the Crime Victims Reparations Program. (Victims suffering catastrophic injuries may qualify for up to $25,000). The money can help pay for

medical expenses, counseling expenses, lost wages, funeral expenses or other costs related to personal injuries that are caused by a violent crime.
    You may qualify for help if:
  • The crime was reported to the proper authorities within 72 hours.
  • An application for help is received within one year of the date of the crime.
  • The victim is cooperating with the investigation.
  • The victim did not contribute to the crime.
  • The victim has not been convicted of a criminally injurious felony.
  • The victim's expenses are not covered by a collateral source.

    Property losses are not covered by this program.
